Aftercare is the continuance of a solid beginning in the recovery program. The Carroll Institute recommends that all our clients attend aftercare meetings with the new learning, tools, and attitude introduced in treatment. Recovery for most will be a long term process and aftercare is a key component in establishing a new foundation where one can truly turn over a new life. Adult Aftercare is a one hour per week reconnection for clients beginning recovery from drugs and alcohol. The group discussion topics are a more in depth look at issues that can make or break early recovery. Relapse prevention, trust building, value of honesty, feelings and anger management, relationships and peer pressure are all topics covered during aftercare.
