About Good Shepherd Gracenter

Good Shepherd Gracenter is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization whose program, A Licensed Recovery Residence, provides transitional housing for women in recovery coming out of treatment programs who want to live in a drug/alcohol free environment to support their sobriety. It serves women between the ages of 18 to 35 with a commitment to succeed. Participant fees are on a sliding scale, based on the participant's income. Gracenter holds a State license as a Residential Alcoholism/Drug Abuse Recovery Facility. This unique women's program offers a 12-Step approach, which Gracenter believes promotes long-term recovery. The large, home-like residence is located in San Francisco near public transportation and accommodates 13 women. Services include case management to assist the participants develop their individual sobriety plan and to connect them with appropriate community resources.  The participants attend multiple 12-Step meetings including one held at Gracenter, a weekly house meeting, monthly workshops, and work actively with a sponsor.  A (live-in) house manager is available to the participants in the evenings for assistance as needed.  Food for all meals is provided for the participants, and four evening meals are prepared by staff.
