About KAR House
Akeela, Inc. is a non-profit organization offering a comprehensive array
of services for the prevention and treatment of substance abuse, and
alcohol abuse, in Anchorage, Alaska and other communities throughout
the state. Akeela was founded in 1974 by a group of concerned citizens
and serves the community by striving to "enhance the ability of
citizens and their families to succeed in life."
All rehab program components are licensed by the Alaska
Division of Behavioral Health and accredited by the Commission on
Accreditation of Rehabilitative Facilities."
This program serves clients who are assessed at an ASAM III.5 level. It is long-term treatment based on the individual progress of each client. KAR House is a small, 15 beds, co-ed program that provides a modified Therapeutic Community modality of therapy, and services for co-occurring disorders.
