Power House is a male specific residential treatment program for Chemical Dependency/Dual Diagnosis. The program is based on a 12 Step Model and Cognitive/Behavioral Therapy. Research and experience indicate that the group milieu is the treatment of choice for dealing with addiction. The programs are designed for a six to nine month stay. Research and experience also indicate that when the patient participates in intensive Family Therapy as part of the treatment process, they have the best opportunity to maintain their recovery process. Each client at Power House is an individual and thus, the treatment process and length of stay varies for each person. Our experience has shown that family members of Power House residents need a great deal of support while becoming educated about the disease of Chemical Dependency, identifying how the disease has affected their lives, and beginning their own �healing � process. Al-Anon, �Open � AA meetings, and Families Anonymous are the best sources of support for understanding recovery from the ravages of this �Family � illness. We encourage participation in in-house family meetings as well as family therapy. We will make additional 12 step program and aftercare counseling recommendations
